Instructions after the surgery
On the day of surgery don’t rinse the wound nor stir the liquid in your mouth. Try to avoid hot and hard food and fizzy drinks. Also try to avoid all types of food that contain seeds in it, such as sesame, flax and similar seeds that are most likely to stick in the wound and prevent the natural healing.
Avoid hard labors and bending forward. Find enough time to put cold compresses which reduce swelling and pain after the surgery.
Be sure to take medicines prescribed by your dentist regularly. Keep your oral hygiene in the way advised by your doctor, making sure to pay special attention on the area where the surgery was performed. Stitches in your mouth should be cleaned regularly, but gently to avoid irritation of the wound.
Depending on the surgery, you will get specific additional instructions which you should follow. If you have any additional questions, please, contact your dentist.
