Temporary crowns
During the fabrication of the final dental crown the patient gets a temporary crown. Those crowns protect already prepared and drilled teeth from different stimulations, they help to shape the gums and enable chewing, normal pronunciation as well as relatively good esthetics, generally better than the initial one.
Temporary crowns are attached to teeth with temporary cement which, in exceptional circumstances, may loose causing the temporary crown to fall. If this happens, you can easily put the crown back to the tooth without worries of placing it wrong. Temporary crown or bridge has only one position in which can cover the tooth completely. If you can bite normally with the placed crown, you have done it correctly. However, to prevent it from happening again, you should contact your dentist who will attach the crown again using the temporary cement.
