After the tooth extraction your dentist will put a sterile gauze on the wound which you need to bite. You should have the gauze in place for about half an hour and after that throw it away. In the meantime, you can normally swallow the saliva.<\/p>\n

On the day of the tooth extraction don\u2019t rinse the wound nor stir the liquid in your mouth.\u00a0 Don\u2019t try to swallow up anything from the wound or put something in it. Try to avoid hot and hard food and fizzy drinks. You should eat warm and soft food, preferably on the opposite side from where the tooth was extracted. Also try not to eat until the numbness passes. \u00a0If the pain appears, you can take a painkiller that your doctor has recommended (Voltaren, Neofen, Ketonal).<\/p>\n

The day after the tooth extraction you can rinse your mouth with warm sage tea, keep your regular dental hygiene and eat normally. If the pain persists, feel free to take a painkiller.<\/p>\n

If the pain lasts longer than a few days, if it doesn\u2019t reduce, or even, if it enhances, you should contact your dentist.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
